What are cookies?
Cookies are used on Telia’s website. A cookie is a small text file that is stored on your computer when you visit a website. They are used for certain functions on our website to improve the user experience or provide us with statistics about the use of the site. We do not store any personal information using cookies. The statistical information cannot be linked to a particular subscription or individual. Information about the visitor cannot be traced by Telia through cookies. A cookie cannot start a program.
Different types of cookies
Telia’s website uses three types of cookie. The first type permanently stores a file on the visitor’s computer. It stores previous visits to the site and information about the browser used. This type of cookie optimizes the website performance so that for instance only the latest updates need to be downloaded.
The second type of cookie is called a session cookie. It is temporarily stored on your computer and used for instance to keep track of the settings during the visit to the website. Session cookies disappear when you close your browser.
The third type is a statistics cookie set to keep track of the number of visitors to the website.
Accept or reject cookies
Each visitor can enable or disable cookies. Most web browsers accept cookies automatically, but the settings can be changed so that cookies are rejected or the visitor can choose whether to accept them or not. However, if cookies are turned off, it will not be possible to fully use all the functions of Telia’s services and the internet in general.
Block all cookies
Most browsers enable the user to block all cookies. More information about how to change the cookies settings in other web browsers can be found in the Help menu of the browser.
