We delete all data
When we receive your equipment, the first thing we do is make sure that any information remaining on the equipment is correctly managed. All data is permanently deleted without any risk of being recreated, and memory circuits are cleared before reconditioning the products. The aim is to ensure that no information ends up in the wrong hands. We use world-leading, certified software from Blancco, among others, to permanently erase your devices.
Reuse before recycling
To achieve the best possible environmental effect, we always aim to reuse before recycling. The first step is to recondition the products by our environmentally certified partners and transferred to the second-hand market for IT equipment or become spare parts. In 2022, 47,844 units were returned and around 95 percent of those could be reused. If the equipment is sorted out, it is recycled in an environmentally secure way. Both in terms of reuse and recycling, Telia Finance ensures that the equipment does not end up on sensitive markets from a sustainability and CSR perspective, and we collaborate with market-leading partners for the handling. The suppliers have been contracted based on the high demands of Telia Company. The processes and working methods for our environmental work are followed up and evaluated continuously so that we can maximize the value of all used equipment.
ISO-certifications
The full process regarding handling, deletion of information and placement on the second-hand market or recycling is completed in accordance with ISO 9001 (quality) and ISO 14001 (environment). We are audited by independent auditors in relations to our work with quality and environmental issues.
